Malaysia Mattress Sizes: Single, Super Single, Queen & King Mattress Size Guide

Choosing the right mattress size is important when replacing an old mattress or buying a new one. In Malaysia, the most common mattress sizes are Single, Super Single, Queen and King.

If you are replacing an existing mattress, remember that an old mattress may have changed shape over time. For the most accurate fit, it is better to measure the inside of your bed frame and compare it with the mattress dimensions.

Why Does My Old Mattress Look Wider?

If you measure your old mattress and find that it is slightly wider or different from the standard size, don't worry.

Mattresses contain foam, fabric and other flexible materials. After years of use, foam can soften, compress or change shape, while the mattress cover may also stretch. As a result, an old mattress may no longer represent its original dimensions accurately.

This is why we recommend measuring your bed frame when choosing a replacement mattress.

How to Measure Your Bed for a New Mattress

Measure the inside area where the mattress sits, rather than the outside dimensions of the entire bed frame. Measure:

Width × Length

For example:

152 × 190 cm → Queen Size

The bed frame is usually a better reference than an old, worn mattress.

A Small Size Difference Can Be Normal

Mattresses are made from flexible materials and may have slight manufacturing or measurement variations.

A difference of around 1–2 cm can be normal, depending on the mattress construction, materials and manufacturing process.

So if your measurement is not exactly the same as the listed mattress dimensions,

don't panic. Always compare your measurements with the specific mattress model before purchasing.

Don't Forget Mattress Thickness

Mattress thickness is also important.

Mattresses are available in different heights, such as 8", 10", 12" and more, depending on the model.

When choosing a mattress, consider:

Bed Frame Height + Mattress Thickness = Overall Bed Height

If your bed frame is already high, a very thick mattress may make the finished bed too high. If your bed frame is lower, a thicker mattress may provide a more comfortable overall height.

Think about how easy it is to sit on the bed, get in and out, and change the bedsheets.

Before You Buy a New Mattress

Before ordering, we recommend:

  • Measure the inside width and length of your bed frame.

  • Don't rely only on the measurements of an old mattress.

  • Consider the mattress thickness and overall bed height.

  • Allow for a small 1–2 cm variation where applicable.

  • Contact us if you are unsure about the correct mattress size.
